Internship Program

Learn Golf Course Design in the Field

Since 2003, our internship program has welcomed aspiring golf architects from around the world. The goal has always been simple: to give passionate, curious, and motivated people a real opportunity to learn, grow, and experience golf course design firsthand.

Many of our former interns have gone on to build great courses of their own. We're proud to have played a small part in their journey.

How It Works

Internship opportunities depend on active projects being in the right phase of construction, so openings don't follow a fixed schedule. Timing matters, but if you're enthusiastic about golf and design, we'd love to learn more about you.

What You'll Do:

  • Work on active construction projects in the field
  • Assist with routing studies and site analysis
  • Learn shaping, grading, and construction sequencing
  • Work alongside experienced designers and construction crews
  • Study golf courses and learn why they work

What We're Looking For:

  • Genuine passion for golf and golf course design
  • Willingness to work hard in all weather conditions
  • Humility and eagerness to learn
  • Relevant background (maintenance experience, landscape architecture, construction, or deep study of golf courses)

This is not an office internship. This is hands-on education in the craft of building golf courses.

How to Apply

Complete the application form below. This helps us get to know you and allows us to reach out when the right opportunity comes along.

The application asks you to share:

  • Your interest in golf and golf course architecture
  • Why you'd like to work with Renaissance Golf Design
  • What you feel you could contribute to one of our projects
  • Your relevant experience and background

We review submissions as opportunities arise and will contact you directly if there's a potential fit. We recommend staying up to date on our current work via the website and submitting your information when your availability aligns.

We receive about 50 applications each year. Competition is significant, but if you're serious about learning this craft, we encourage you to apply.
