Eric grew up in Denver, Colorado, and got his first taste of golf construction as a teenager at Riverdale Dunes, Summer of 1985. For the next 10 years Perry Dye and the Dye family provided opportunities across the United States and Japan. In 1995 he teamed up with Don Placek to form Iverson Placek Golf Design, with Eric’s designs including 9 hole additions in the Midwest, and Staley Farms Golf Club in Kansas City.
Eric joined Renaissance Golf Design in 2001. He has since led some of the most technically difficult projects the firm has taken on. He makes them look easy.
25 years on, the clients, friendships, clubs and courses all over the world are too numerous to mention. What ties them all together is dedication to the craft of golf course design, commitment to excellence, and the notion that we never stop learning. What’s most exciting is that every new opportunity is an outlet to apply everything learned over 40 years in golf toward making bold, new ideas work. The future has never been brighter.
